Vermont Festival of the Great Outdoors
posted 06/11/2010 by info_vof

The Vermont Festival of the Great Outdoors has built up quite a bit of steam since the concept began September 2009. Currently there are 43 events for this 10 day festival scheduled July 9-18, 2010 in the Mad River Valley, Vermont’s Natural Playground.
“There is literally something for everyone of all ages”, states festival representative, Brenda Johnston. “We are very excited about the events that have been submitted. There are several hikes from a guided Mad River Path walk, A Summer Hike in the Bear Woods and a Gap to Gap Hike. In addition there are workshops teaching how to be a better gardener or how to build a kite, kids activities such as a Teddy Bear Tea in Wonderland, Valley Farm Ride, and plenty of night time activities as well with Dinner & a Movie under the stars, BBQ and Boat Night and Hula Hoop contests. Of course being in the Mad River Valley, there are river events as well, make sure to catch the Mad River Tube Relay Race.”
This festival would make for a great weekend or midweek getaway or even full vacation.
The website, which contains all the information about the festival, features an online calendar containing all the activities and events, as well as news updates.
Fundraising for the festival has been done though a raffle for a 7 day cruise for 2 to Bermuda from Boston. The drawing will be held at the end of the festival with tickets still available at the Wilder Farm Inn, Waitsfield Inn, The Bridges and The White Horse Inn.
For more information and calendar updates, go to www.vtoutdoorsfest.com, call Brenda Johnston at 802-496-3260 or email at info@vtoutdoorsfest.com.
